BUILDING PERMITS are required for fences, roofs, exterior
alterations, remodeling,
etc., whether done by a contractor or homeowner. Certain planned work
or additions
may require a petition to the zoning Board of Appeals, for a variation
in use.
It is a good idea to check with the Building Department before you do
any extensive re-
modeling. If you hire a contractor, be certain he is bonded and licensed
or your work may
be subject to a STOP ORDER by the Building Inspector.
